Organizational Synopsis:

CSD is a non-governmental organization (NGO) established in August 1991. The rational behind the inception of CSD is that the basic problem of wide-scale and deep-rooted poverty cannot be solved through the efforts of the government alone and that complementary as well as supplementary initiation and efforts are required to come from NGOs as well. So, on the premise of that CSD emerged in the development arena as a service provider to the poor people of Nepal with aims to work for and with its target population that is, the rural poor and the underprivileged for poverty reduction and socio-economic upliftment through the access to microfinance and other services. So far, CSD has developed two kinds of services that are financial and non-financial services, such as: loans, saving (both compulsory and voluntary), micro insurance. Capacity building programs for the poor center evaluation and award system, public auditing etc.
